Going Down Swinging has teamed up with Melbourne University, Coopers and Bebida Bar to present a double dose of launch goodness from 6pm on Thursday, August 27.

We’re launching Essays, Letters, Reflections: a FREE, downloadable and totally portable ebook of the best essays, travel writing and reflections on GDS’s online history. Supported by the University of Melbourne, the ebook features favourites from Jenny Sinclair, Scott Wings, Sian Campbell, Tyne Daile Sumner, Oliver Mol and illustrations by Genna Campton.

Enjoy free entry, free beer thanks to Coopers, mulled wine, canapés (cheese), projections and the launch of our latest release with readings from Tyne Daile Sumner and GDS founders and godparents Kevin Brophy and Myron Lysenko. The launch will take place from 6-8pm in the snug, booklined walls of the Leigh Scott Room in the Baillieu Library, tucked away in the rare books collection.

Once you’ve had your fill of words, join us down the road at Bebida Bar in Fitzroy from 8.30pm for a free drink on entry, $4 gourmet tacos, happy hour prices and music until late.
