We’ve hunted far and wide, and we’re extremely happy to announce that Zoe Norton Lodge will be joining Going Down Swinging as our new co-editor.

Zoe replaces Bhakthi Puvanenthiran, who departs to our farewelling handkerchief-waves as she takes on regional Victoria, and will work with editor Geoff Lemon on Going Down Swinging No. 35, due out in late 2013.

Zoe has a strong association with GDS. Her first published story, ‘Yia Yia on Papou’, appeared in Going Down Swinging No. 32, as well as the limited-release Penguin Plays Rough collection. It was subsequently selected in Best Australian Stories 2012.

She has performed at GDS launches and events in Melbourne and Sydney, and produced an audio story under the GDS Commissions program for edition No. 34.

Zoe is one of those people who apparently does everything at once. She curates Story Club, a monthly storytelling event in Sydney, helped organise the Festival Club program at this year’s Sydney Writers Festival, and coordinated the National Young Writers Festival in 2011 and 2012. She’s worked on The Chaser shows The Hamster Wheel and The Checkout, and The Jungle Boys’ The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting.

She also has a regular segment on Radio National Drive called The Bluffer’s Guide, and is working on her first book with Giramondo Publishing. We couldn’t be happier to further impose on her time, and will look forward to seeing what GDS can produce with her on board.
