Under Milk Wood is a short film created by Vanessa Hughes using a combination of paintings, live action and animation, based on the seminal radio play by Dylan Thomas.

The film explores the sounds and places of Thomas’ quintessential Welsh town of Llaregub.
Exploring all 52 characters of the original text, this video leaves no relationship unexplored. The result is a mesmerising journey through the homes and minds of this unique world.

Initially the media was a part of a theatrical production of Under Milk Wood, which Vanessa directed. The play premiered in Sydney and toured to critical acclaim at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2011.
