Finally after blood, sweat and many bottles of wine, we have sent off #33 to the printers!

Now all we have to do is prepare to launch yet another amazing issue of Going Down Swinging to the world!

There is much awesomeness to be found amongst its pages including an incredible collaboration by Cate Kennedy and artist Simon MacEwan, an essay by Briohny Doyle and some truly amazing tracks on the audio CD by the likes of Sietta, Mantra and Sean Whelan to mention only a few.

It will take you from Thailand to rundown apartments in Minneapolis to the depths of the ocean to a run-in with Czech border guards. There’s even a Jesus section. This is an oppurtunity not to be missed!

Where can I get this awe-inspiring tome, I hear you ask?

—and for you, faithful reader, I have the answer—

For the price of a ticket you get entry into the lovely Toff in Town and a copy of our freshly minted new star – complete with radical new design from Santangelo and Hall.

Issue #33 will be launched on the closing night of the Melbourne Writers Festival. Helping us get it off the ground and into the water will be some of Melbourne’s best spoken-word artists,

With brand new performances from the acclaimed Cate Kennedy, blues-soaked Benezra and Frente singer Angie Hart, who responds to a special performance from spoken-word legend Adam Gibson.

In the coming days sneak peek previews of #33’s seething inards will be posted here on this very blog along with other pertinent details to fill your week with GDS love. Stay tuned and keep an eye out for our new edition!
