Going Down Swinging was in Newcastle at the beginning of the October doing some recordings for the National Young Writers’ Festival Press Room.

Because we like sharing, we thought we’d make the best of these available to our online readers.

Benjamin Law hosted this excellent panel to discuss Helen Garner’s recent speech at the Stella Prize’s inaugural Award Night, where she said “Prizes are rather like wills. Terrible anxieties cluster around them”. Award-winning writers Anna Krien (Night Games), Romy Ash (Floundering) and Alli Sebastian Wolf took the stage to discuss whether awards help or hinder their writing.
