Looking for some hands-on experience in putting together a print anthology filled with local literary legends and up-and-comers? This year we have two internship positions: editorial and marketing. Wanna get elbow-deep into social media and marketing? Wondering how to launch events and liaise with artists? Are you an as-yet unrecognised icon of the red pen? Check out the position descriptions for our Marketing Intern and Editorial Intern to see if one might be for you.
The internships will be run at least partially online, but we’re looking for Melbourne-based applicants so we can collaborate in-person where possible. We particularly encourage Indigenous people, queer people, and people of all abilities, religions, ethnicities and genders to apply. If you’re someone who loves all kinds of stories, you may be the person for us.
To apply, please send through your CV and a brief cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org. We don’t require formal qualifications, fellowships or past internships. Tell us why you’d like to be involved with Going Down Swinging.
For bonus points:
– Editorial applicants, have a look at Edition 41 or the wonderful work on our website and tell us (in 200 words or less) about your favourite find.
– Marketing applicants, have a look at Edition 41 or the wonderful work on our website and promote one of our pieces to us—make us want to click the link and read the whole piece (in 100 words or less).
Please note: this is a voluntary position, with a small stipend of $400 for the entire program.
Applications close 7pm Friday June 11, 2021 with interviews being held over Zoom the week following.
